A Healthier and More Sustainable Lifestyle

I started working with Grant shortly after getting the results back from my annual physical. I knew that I had been slowly gaining weight and just didn’t feel great most of the time despite being an active guy- I enjoy tennis, squash, boxing, and weight-lifting.

Post-physical, I was displeased to find out I was overweight, at risk for high blood pressure, and had high cholesterol. I knew something needed to change.

Over the course of five months, Grant coached me to develop a healthier and, most importantly, sustainable lifestyle that yielded material results. I now am happy to report that I have gone from a large shirt size to medium, lost two inches on my waist, and have more energy throughout the day. 

I’m in a client-facing software sales role, so looking and feeling my best has a big impact on my performance. The discipline and habits that Grant has taught me has rippled out to other areas of my life. I’m truly feeling better than ever.

Exactly what I needed to get back on track.

In the past I’ve tried various diets but have always returned to bad eating habits. I consider myself a picky eater, so there were few healthy foods I enjoyed eating which meant most diet plans were too restrictive for me to adhere to for the long run. I tried keto for a couple of months and lost a ton of weight, but it was nearly impossible to go out to eat with friends or family- it just wasn’t sustainable.

Turned My Life Around

After growing up very physically active and enjoying a moderately healthy life, I packed on the pounds during my last couple of years in college. After being cut from the football team, I went from 210 to 280 pounds in two years. I didn’t really realize at the time but that led me towards a deep hole of depression. I had a personal ‘Come to Jesus’ moment that made me want to drop the weight and become physically healthy. Through conversations with Grant I realized that it couldn’t just be a short term diet plan to drop the weight but rather a complete lifestyle change. I needed to eat healthier meals, stop snacking on cakes and sweets, and get active again.

Grant was always positive about the journey and encouraged me to stay the course when weight loss slowed down. He helped me navigate restaurant menus while eating out. Together we organized outings and events with friends that encouraged everyone to be more active.

I’m now leaner and healthier than I’ve ever been. Through all of it, Grant has been consistent in encouraging me to make good choices for myself and helped me develop my own discipline. I now make balanced choices in everyday life and couldn’t be happier. I say it all the time and tell anyone who asks about my journey that though I have done the hard work, I never would have made it without Grant’s help.

Habits For the Rest of My Life
